My local priorities
Ensure there is adequate access to labour for the wine and agriculture sectors. Advocate for a fair process for a dry dock in Shakespeare Bay. Ensure passing lanes are built on major electorate SH roads and the construction of double lane for Hurunui Bridge.
Why I’m running
I have a strong desire to continue the work I've been doing in supporting the businesses and constituents of the community I live in. It's an incredible feeling to see the work you're doing have a real world impact. A great example is the work I did to help Sounds Air secure funding in order to continue operating. Leading the community to rally around our local airline was incredibly rewarding. I believe I can continue to have a positive role as an elected leader for the Kaikōura electorate.
About me
I hold a strong connection with my community having lived in Blenheim for 26 years. I have gained a wealth of experience working in various roles across the NZ wine industry, and will constantly advocate to ensure it remains a world leader. I believe our electorate deserves first-rate health services, having lead 'Save our Services' to successfully retain surgical services at Wairau Hospital. I will work to ensure that our electorate has better roads, more jobs and a stronger local economy.

Reduce personal tax on living wages for split incomes. Train young people for full time employment. Reduce the waiting list for hospital treatment regardless of race or religion.
Why I’m running
I believe that the people of New Zealand are losing their democratic rights and this government is taking too much control over people's lives.
About me
Being a husband, father of three adult children and grandfather I have a long family experience. I have had experience in community budget advice, selling and marketing for my own business.

Use the Provincial Growth Fund to grow our local economy to create and retain sustainable jobs. Fund key infrastructure projects including the ferry terminal upgrades, Combined College rebuild, rail and road. Establish and maintain strong representation of Kaikōura's primary industries.
Why I’m running
The Kaikōura Electorate needs central government support and recognition for the key role that we play in the New Zealand economy. The resilience and growth of primary industries helped with favourable government policies and the right investments into key strategic assets will help our post-Covid recovery. With ten years' experience in local government and a cross-the-board understanding of our region, I understand this. I want to be your effective representation for our electorate.
About me
I am a hard worker, a good listener, a communicator and an active member of the community. A family man with a horticulture background, I am a qualified Hearings Commissioner with an understanding of the tensions between environmental issues and sustainable economic business. I will advocate and lobby hard for the Kaikōura Electorate. I will ask the tough questions. I have the experience and belief in our region to be effective. Support me to be your voice.

My local priorities
Support local businesses, start-ups and co-ops through a focus on localism, local produce and re-generation. Improve socio-economic outcomes through collaborative strategies that help to improve the quality of life for all. Represent and be the voice of the people and ensure communities are well informed of all issues that may impact on them.
Why I’m running
I have a great love for our natural environment, community and society and am concerned around the current corporatisation and technocratic globalisation of our country. I believe NZ's future and economy should be self-reliant and thriving and based on organics, regenerative horticulture and agriculture, holistic health, holistic education and localism. I am also passionate about true democracy, transparency and accountability in all aspects of government.
About me
I've been involved in governance on school BOTs and Kaikoura District Council, and enjoy working collaboratively with others towards goals and outcomes. I really enjoy being a voice for the community and have always promoted transparency and accountability, as well as critical and creative thinking to find solutions to problems. I value input from all perspectives and desire to see an improvement in the quality of life that will see all people, their communities and New Zealand thrive.

Harness the potential of Lake Sumner to supply domestic, hydro and irrigation (by gravity!) to southern Hurunui area. Re-introduce Christchurch/Wellington overnight ferry service to ensure alternative to fragile road/rail system. Re-establish commuter rail Waipara, Darfield, Ashburton for obvious reasons, access, emissions etc.
Why I’m running
I support getting NZ Inc. back to the very successful pre-40s and pre-80s public financing of basic infrastructure, rail, road, domestic-hydro/irrigation, health/housing and drastic reform of the consents processes by reintroducing an upgraded MOW, NZED, NZR model of governance/oversight and financing so that long term planning is divorced from the 3 year political auction and vested interest corruption. Nothing of productive value has been built in the Kaikoura electorate since the 1980s!
About me
I am standing for my 9th election since 1972 more than ever convinced that the incumbents are wedded to a doctrine that has produced an increasingly divided community. My lifetime in North Canty is clearly in two parts: firstly the post-war pre-80s when tremendous social and productive progress was in full swing. The second being notable for having to witness increasing social divisiveness, national debt and no new productive infrastructure – governments fixated on "patching up the holes".

Manage Covid-19 the proper way to support the elderly and vulnerable without destroying rights/liberties. Keep New Zealand a free democratic society. Listen to the voices of the people in my community and pass on their concerns.
Why I’m running
I love and cherish my country because of this I want New Zealanders to be fully informed about the alliances our present Government has with foreign influence, that communism is not a ghost of the past but rather and increasing threat to our way of life and our civil liberties and freedoms.
About me
I am standing in this seat as a young mother who is concerned for the future for my children. I am not political, my stance is due to the need for a void to be filled in the Kaikoura electorate. I have much to learn but don't see my lack of political experience as a barrier to telling the truth, standing on behalf of others and wanting the best outcome for New Zealand.

Work with farmers and wine growers to move to a regenerative or organic model which is truly sustainable. Protect all our rivers but especially the Hurunui River which is one of the few unspoilt braided rivers in the country. Help get rid of the massive tyre dump in Amberley which is an environmental disaster waiting to happen.
Why I’m running
I believe that there never has been a more important time to Party Vote Green. I am running to spread the Green message far and wide, to increase the number of Green MPs in parliament so we can form part of a progressive Green/Labour coalition with a bold programme for environmental and social justice. A powerful motivator for me is that I now have two grandchildren, and it is my and your responsibility to strive to protect the future of the planet for them and all the world's children.
About me
I have lived and worked as a GP in the small rural community of Waikari since 1986. I have met and spoken to thousands of rural New Zealanders in and out of the surgery, and understand the many challenges they face. The Hurunui is a very special place to live in, and I strongly believe we have to protect its rivers, mountains and land for our children and grandchildren. This is my second run as a Green candidate and I am firmly committed to the principles of the Green Charter.

First and foremost jobs, for our trades and workers and help those wanting to start a new carrier in those areas. More house builds to help increase our trades and keep more people employed. Mental health and wellbeing of our community in this very trying time.
Why I’m running
I am a tradesperson and a front-line person like most of New Zealand. So often I see decisions being made that don't have the understanding of how it works at that front line. I seek to get into government to help at the top to try and help them understand how we do things at the front line. This will help to make a change we can all see.
About me
Born and raised on a farm; a limited electrician 21 years; a wedding DJ and MC; diplomas in radio broadcasting and photography; a health and safety rep, and finally a rugby ref of 21 years. I now work for New Zealand's largest rental market owner and manager 14 trades on repairs of over 450 houses in Blenheim alone. I know front-line, I know the Marlborough and Kaikōura regions due to my job as a limited electrician and I know what it takes to get the job done.
