Waitaki electorate
Waitaki is currently represented by National's Jacqui Dean, who won safely with a margin of 12,816. In 2017, National won the largest share of Waitaki's votes – 54% to Labour's 30%. Boundary changes this year mean the electorate now includes an area around Palmerston, and no longer includes the Alexandra and Clyde areas.

Clean up our freshwater and target reduction of sedimentation and run-off through improved land management. Put cameras on fishing vessels and incentivise sustainable fisheries. Apply the provisions of the Waste Minimisation Act 2008. Why I’m running
As a rural New Zealander I would like to see more being done with farmers and other groups to improve our water quality in a joint effort to sustain our waterways for future generations of New Zealand. About me
I am a father of four children and have lived in the Waitaki district for 25 years being involved in many local community groups and projects in this time. I have worked as a truck and bus driver, an alternative education tutor and a tyre technician. Party list rank

Repeal and re-write the legislation that harms our agricultural sector-consulting widely with all affected and experts. Revitalise rural communities with new economic opportunities/projects, improved roading, communication and services. Better regional management, focus and flexibility rather than the centrally directed, 'one size fits all' approach. Why I’m running
I am appalled at the state our country is in – with threatened indefinite rolling lockdowns, massive borrowing and debt and continued removal of our personal rights and freedoms. The lack of consultation or robust law making processes sees career politicians writing unworkable totalitarian laws and regulations which are destroying our farming industry and small and medium businesses. Mental health issues and suicides have skyrocketed – I am standing with Advance NZ to change all of this.About me
Raised on an isolated sheep and beef farm, Makarora Station, I am passionate about people, farming, environmentalism and our rural communities. I have worked in many industries here and overseas and served with Wanaka LANDSAR (sub-alpine tracking), volunteer fire/first response-fire chief, F&B Wanaka & chair of our community board. A strong faith keeps me focused and grounded and I love working with a variety of people to recognise and overcome issues and create better outcomes for all. Party list rank

Concern on the trajectory of our nation. Negative social statics including broken families, suicide, crime, generational debt, foreign ownership, breakdown of democracy, growing separatism and division, a broken education system teaching a revisionist version of history training children to hate themselves and their heritage, a growing culture of victimhood, entitlement and socialist ideology, ever encroaching UN-driven mandates all point to a dark future for New Zealand if we don't change now!About me
