Continue to upgrade schools here in Mt Albert, like the redevelopments at Western Springs College and Mt Albert Grammar. Rebuild our hospitals so Mt Albert residents have access to the services they deserve, including Auckland City Hospital. Roll out more public housing in Auckland, in addition to the more than 3,900 we've already delivered across the country. Why I’m running
I'm committed to keeping our economy moving and building back better in the wake of Covid. Our plan is about investing in people. It's about jobs, preparing for our future, and supporting our small businesses. We've already backed businesses through the wage subsidy, now we're creating jobs by upgrading and rebuilding our infrastructure, and we're helping people upskill by making apprenticeships free. Our plan to keep New Zealand moving is already in motion, and I'm ready to keep rolling it out.About me
When I became Prime Minister, I said I wanted our government to be different – to be empathetic and kind. I want people to know that's what drives me. I've been in politics for a while now so people have probably got to know me but I hope they've seen those values reflected in what we do.

The cost of living. It is a basic human right that people can feed and clothe their families and pay for the necessities. Health and housing: if we don't have our health we have nothing. Poor health is exasperated by poor housing. Jobs and employment: everybody deserves the dignity of well paid work.
Why I’m running
I entered parliament to make a difference for Māori. As a school principal I refused to accept that Māori under-achievement was acceptable and set about changing that. Politically I believe Māori outcomes should be equal if not better than other New Zealanders. As a Minister change is already being seen in my portfolios of Maori Crown Relations, Māori Education and Corrections. Outcomes for Māori are improving because I have the political will to change them.About me
Māori can achieve and succeed as well as any other New Zealander. My mission as a politician is to ensure that happens. As an educator I refused to accept the status quo and as a politician I likewise refuse to accept lesser outcomes for Māori. Māori should be free to express our Tino Rangatiratanga. The Government's role is to pull the levers of government where possible to support Māori to achieve our aspirations.

I want to continue to play my part in a Labour-led government that is keeping Kiwis safe and well. We have made a lot of progress in making New Zealand a better and fairer place, but there is more to do. As Minister of Finance I want to see us keep Covid-19 out and build our economy back to deliver decent jobs with good wages. I want to embed our wellbeing approach where we value the health of our people, environment and communities just as much as our economic prosperity. Lets keep moving!About me
I am in politics because I believe in social justice. To me that means that every person is given the support to achieve their potential. I grew up believing that we are all our brothers and sisters' keepers, that we should treat others as we wish to be treated and if we work hard we will achieve our goals. It is those values I try to live up to every day.

Support local jobs: the wage subsidy and small business loans have helped thousands of Westie businesses. Add services to Waitakere Hospital: building on the $390m that went to our local DHB in Budget 2020. Free apprenticeships: we put $1.4 bn into trade training to make apprenticeships free including in construction. Why I’m running
I want our community in West Auckland to be even better than it is: with more jobs, more training opportunities, a great public health system with expanded services at our Waitakere Hospital, decent and affordable housing for all, safe streets, great local schools, and thriving businesses. For that we need a Labour-led government that will do everything it can to give people the opportunity to get ahead through their hard work and talents.About me
I have spent my life working for fairness and opportunity, as a union organiser, journalist, NGO leader, and then as a politician. I have always backed the underdog. I'm a patriotic Kiwi and want this country to be as good as it can be, and it's already pretty awesome. I live in Te Atatū with my wife Jo. We have a grown up son who now has his own family. Jacinda Ardern and Labour have led a decisive response to Covid-19 that saved lives and positions New Zealand for a strong economic recovery. Only Labour has the plan to keep New Zealanders safe, create high-wage jobs and support our job creators, rid the country of child poverty; and make the transition to a clean, green, carbon-neutral economy. The rebuild is already in motion and now is no time to slow down. I'm standing as part of Jacinda's team to keep New Zealand moving.About me
Justice has always driven me, from fairness and freedom from discrimination for all, to good jobs, decent wages and safe workplaces, and a warm dry home for everyone. In Jacinda Ardern's team I've been responsible for reforms to the justice system so we can have less criminal offending, less re-offending and fewer victims of crime who are better supported. There is much still to do, so we're asking for Kiwis' support for Labour to get on with the job.

I am aspirational for New Zealanders and New Zealand but I've lived and seen the impact of inequality on individuals, whanau and communities. We undermine our potential as a country when large numbers of our citizens aren't valued and/ or when they don't have the opportunity to contribute. Social and economic development are not mutually exclusive – we need both to be equally weighted as priorities. Our government has done a lot to address inequalities. I'm passionate about continuing this work.About me
All of my working life has been committed to the education, health and social sectors. As the first person in my family to go to university and get a degree, I was always cognisant of the role I could and should play in giving back to others. Growing up I was an at risk youth, taken in by a school principal. I've been a sole parent on the DPB, a teacher, a manager, a CEO and a cabinet minister. A Tongan-born New Zealander, I was brought up with the values of service and hard work. Create a violence free Aotearoa NZ where our children are safe and thriving and reach their full potential. Build strong, thriving and resilient communities, where we all feel welcome, we all have a voice and we are all loved. End the inequity that exists for women, our indigenous and ethnic peoples, the gender diverse and marginalised groups. Why I’m running
I have had the privilege of serving the community and I know how important a thriving community is to the health, wellbeing and resilience of us all. The recent Lockdown demonstrated how we care for each other. I believe many solutions to long term problems such as family violence, lie in strengthening our communities and the NGO sector. Our place: advocate for more investment in significant infrastructure projects, creating work, and improving wellbeing. Our exports: boosting resources to support and promote our regions' exporters. Why I’m running
The East Coast is my home and it has a rich history, but it is over-represented in too many statistics. I knew our place had the ability to thrive but needed the backing of a supportive government. I've seen first hand the realities that lie behind the statistics. I saw how easy it was for people's lives to become harder; how significant having a decent job could be to the course of someone's life. There is so much potential in here, but it's been too low on the priority list for too long.About me
I've lived in almost every corner of this electorate and have spent much of my life as an advocate and working in the primary industries. Turning dirt into decent jobs has always been a focus of mine, because I know the impact these jobs have on people's lives. My experience allowed me to hit the ground running when I got to parliament in 2017, and I haven't stopped yet. Things like providing excellent health and education and housing, and a decent welfare system for the hard times. If people have that basic security, then they can be full citizens in our country. That's what I want to work towards as an MP – making sure that each of us has what we need to flourish as equals in our society.About me
I started out as an accountant, and then studied political theory, ending up with a PhD in Philosophy. With that mixed background, I became an expert in tax, and I've published a book, Tax and Fairness with co-author Terry Baucher. So I bring expertise in tax, business, and economics to my job. I live in the middle of the New Lynn electorate which gives me a deep understanding of local issues, and I work hard to connect with the amazing number of different community groups out west in Auckland.

Maintain the momentum of the rebuild/economy recovery post-Covid-19. Jobs. Getting our fair share of infrastructure spend. Continue support to reduce household expenses for those in need e.g. winter energy payment, reduce doctors fees. Access to healthcare. Why I’m running
It's a great privilege to get the chance to represent people on the issues that matter to them; identifying what should change and how to make things better. Standing up for the more vulnerable in our community, giving people a voice and bringing their issues to the attention of decision makers is something I am very proud of. I believe in fairness, equal opportunities and giving our kids the best possible start in life so they can have access to good jobs, decent working conditions, fair wages.About me
Living locally in the Kaipara ki Mahurangi electorate, I am very aware of the issues that matter to our community. When people talk to me about congestion on our roads or how the growth of our towns is adding to the pressures on our schools, health care facilities, and environment, I understand. I see it and experience it too. I have worked hard for my entire life, and am now using my professional experience, knowledge, and the skills I have developed over the years, to make a real difference.

Housing: affordability and availability – we all deserve somewhere warm, dry and secure to call home. Jobs: Covid-19 has impacted us all. I want our city filled with high value jobs, we need to lose the '$10 Tauranga' tag. The Environment: empty seas, barren land, polluted waterways damages NZ Inc. Let's live up to our 100 percent pure image. Why I’m running
I am running for the BOP electorate to ensure that Labour values which support our people, our environment and our economy are represented in Parliament. I believe that we all deserve to live in a country which provides a safety-net when times are tough and supports us all to thrive. I will continue to represent the people of the BOP. In particular, ensure that we benefit from central government opportunities and that our people remain the heart of my work. Being an MP has been a privilege.About me
I ran for parliament in 2017 because, as the manager of Tauranga Women's Refuge, I saw first hand the reality of peoples lives. I saw the harsh reality of the failure to support our most vulnerable – I saw unprecedented homelessness, run down education and health services. Our Refuge had not has an increase in funding for 9 years. I was fundraising to pay staff wages to support our families. I went to parliament to speak up for those silenced – to make a difference for them.

Civic participation: encourage Botany to vote and raise their voice. True representation: be as accessible to everyone in the electorate. Transport: upgrade and quicken East Auckland's connection to the city and airport. Why I’m running
The New Zealand that supported me to thrive as a 1.5 generation migrant unfortunately no longer exists. When Labour last left office, schools were well funded, access to healthcare was equitable and effective, and public transport was encouraged. I want to bring real representation because Botany deserves an MP who's present and accessible. The voice of the next generation also needs to be heard in parliament as we make decisions for the future and uphold equality in a post-Covid world.About me
I am a third-culture kid – meaning I grew up in a culture not the same of my parents, so I'm passionate about bringing a diversity of age, gender, ethnicity and background into governance boards. I sit on the board of Foundation North, APO and Youth Advisory Group of Philanthropy New Zealand which together with my legal background in employment and criminal law have deeply grounded me into the community and hope to create a better environment for NFP organisations to thrive.

I am passionate about education, particularly early childhood education. I'm also passionate about seeing investment in the regions, they missed out a lot until this government came in and I want see continued support for them especially as we recover from Covid-19.About me

Ensure a strong local economy and that Southland businesses continue to thrive in a post-Covid environment. Ensure Southland has enough social housing to meet our community's needs. Protect and restore our lakes, rivers and estuaries, and in particular Invercargill's New River Estuary. Why I’m running
Before entering politics, I spent a decade monitoring the health of NZ's children. In that time I saw how years of underinvestment had played out in their lives. Thousands of children living in poverty and many hospitalized for poverty related diseases. I saw the same underinvestment impacting our region. Health services struggling with lack of funding, state houses sold off, and young people leaving for jobs elsewhere. I believed only an effective government could turn this situation around.About me
My time as a child health advocate taught me achieving change is possible, but it takes hard work, a team approach and a clear vision of the task ahead. Since becoming a MP, I've met with thousands of Southlanders and in advocating for their needs, have come to appreciate the strength of our community and the importance of a government that invests in our region. Covid-19 means challenges lie ahead to protect people and rebuild our economy and I will continue to advocate strongly for our region.

I know what it’s like to be a refugee. I know what it’s like to be a minimum wage worker seeking decent wages. I know what it feels like to be a Muslim after 51 lives were lost to a racist attack. There is a large portion of New Zealanders who are also familiar with these experiences. I feel it is important that we have representation in parliament that reflects this, and can help reshape the system to better suit our society.About me
I came to New Zealand as a refugee from Eritrea, a country in East Africa that is controlled by an oppressive regime. After arriving here my struggle continued, but it was a different kind of struggle – I worked as a cleaner and did two full time jobs to save money for university. This election is incredibly important. Jacinda Ardern's Labour-led response to Covid-19 saved lives, livelihoods and our sense of community. Our biggest national issue now is when to open the borders, and I trust only Labour to make evidence-based decisions which put people first. Those who see the health and economic responses as separate issues will risk the lives of New Zealanders. Labour will lead a recovery that's fair to everyone and that will ultimately help close the inequality gap.About me
I'm a mother-of-three with proven experience in law, journalism and public service. I've owned my own small business and know the difference that stable leadership, health and safety, and economic security makes to our lives and our children's lives. My Dad's working-class background and values, and family involvement in the union movements that shaped NZ, make me proud to call Dunedin South home and to seek to represent the many diverse communities which live within the Taieri boundaries.

Continue to improve access to mental health support for Cantabrians, who have experienced a uniquely challenging time. Support fees-free for students and address inequities in student allowance, to reduce barriers to education. Tackle housing issues in the electorate, continuing to increase social housing and improve standards of rentals. Why I’m running
Passionate about supporting fairness and equality, I am committed to a society where everyone has the same opportunities irrespective of their gender, ethnicity or background. I have always worked tirelessly to champion these ideals in every role I've held, whether as a union leader, midwife, or lecturer. This aim can best be achieved for the largest number of people by having members of parliament who are strong, hard-working people, dedicated to positive change. People, in fact, like me.About me
I am a practicing midwife and midwifery lecturer, and have first hand knowledge of both the education and health systems. As union president for the past three years, I have worked hard to defend the rights of members, whilst building constructive, mutually respectful relationships with the employer. To help local businesses recover from the impact of Covid-19 and to help save and create more jobs. To protect our environment in this special part of our country in every way possible. To help build and strengthen infrastructure and support development projects and look after our smaller towns. Why I’m running
To me, it's all about the people: I'm a hard-working man and like many locals, I had to do two jobs at some stage. I owned a small business for five years and I know the challenges that face local businesses and hard-working locals. Homeownership in our electorate is at a very low rate and even rental properties are hard to find. The environment is my other huge motivation. We need to work together on solutions. A vote for me is a vote for proper representation of our electorate in parliament.About me
In the last twelve years, I worked many jobs: in a gas station, field technician at a livestock company, managed a restaurant, and owned a small business. Today I'm a corrections officer. I am driven by my values of equal access and opportunity, fairness, social justice and kindness; alongside a strong sense of integrity.
