Why I'm standing
Hamilton is a fast growing city with opportunities and challenges on the horizon. We are perfectly placed geographically and in time to become the economic and cultural hub of Waikato and much of the North Island in the next decade, especially as many people migrate here from other parts of NZ and from overseas. I believe we need fresh perspectives to help this vision happen.
About me
I spent all of my schooling and working years in Hamilton West. I have worked in local and central government organisations, held senior positions in multiple businesses, have previously co-owned a business and own a residential property in Hamilton West. As such, I have a grassroots interest in policy and community engagement both from the viewpoint of a long term resident as well as homeowner, and from someone who understands business and our local community.
My priorities
- More proactive community consultation.
- Increase scrutiny of how ratepayers' money is spent.
- More transparency from council.
