Hamilton City Council

West General Ward
The Hamilton City Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 14 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the city). Six councillors will be elected from the West ward. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Hamilton City Council election.

Why I'm standing

I'm committed to our city and want it to be a great place to live both now and in decades to come. I'm particularly passionate about providing better transport choices, responding to urgent challenges like climate change and housing affordability, and enhancing the green spaces in our city.

About me

I bring my experience as both a commercial and community lawyer, as well as my experience serving as a councillor over the last three years. I have a strong work ethic, am focused on solutions and work collaboratively to get positive outcomes for the city. I'm committed to doing the best job possible for our city.

My priorities
  1. Improve transport choices, including safe walking and cycling and frequent public transport.
  2. Invest in neighbourhoods with housing intensification to improve infrastructure and amenities.
  3. Continue working with the community to restore Hamilton's gullies through Nature in the City.
