Why I'm standing

Hastings is a great place to live, however I am concerned about the connections between the public and local government. I believe our debt is a major issue and somehow council should be evaluating what its core business is. It is time to review what services we should be providing. Can we do better with less? Is what we are doing a local government responsibility or central government issue.

About me

I am a business person that has had previous experience in Local Government. We need to improve the delays in getting things done and try and reduce the bureaucracy that has crept into local government. I have community interests as a rural fire fighter with FENZ and a member of our local rotary club. I am not afraid to ask questions and challenge issues when required. Hastings is a great place to live.

My priorities
  1. Improve the levels of service within council that are hindering growth and expansion of Hastings.
  2. Confirm whether the services council is providing for are council's core responsibility.
  3. Provide more serviced land for residential and industrial development.
