Henderson-Massey Local Board

The Henderson-Massey Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of eight members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. About me

I have extensive governance experience as the former MP for Te Atatu, a former Government Minister, a former senior United Nations official, an elected member of the Waitemata District Health Board and a current Henderson Massey Local Board Member. I have lived in the Henderson Massey Local Boad area for over 30 years and have extensive local networks, friends and former constituents. I know the area and its issues well. I am keen to continue to contribute to my community.

My priorities
  1. Promote the sensible revitalisation of the Henderson CBD.
  2. Make progress on the completion of a public walkway around the Te Atatu Peninsula
  3. Work with Auckland Transport over street parking issues related to housing intensification.
