Mayor of Hutt City

The mayor is the leader of the council. Their job is to promote a vision for the city and lead the development of the council’s plans, policies and budget. The mayor appoints the deputy mayor, establishes committees for particular topics, and appoints chairs for those committees. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I just want the potholes fixed. My campaign is centred around raising mental health awareness and improving/developing access to council-backed mental health facilities.

About me

In a way this is a social experiment, can I be a contender for mayor on a $0 budget, a 100% digital campaign and no help from anyone else. I think 'politics' needs to be taken out of local council. All that does is waste time and ratepayer money. Just do what is right for the city.

My priorities
  1. Fix the potholes. This should be a small and achievable task, and we can fry bigger fish from here.
  2. Focus on developing a locally-funded mental health program for people that are desperate for support
  3. Make a cohesive work team at the council so tasks can be efficiently achieved to a high standard.
