Marlborough District Council

Wairau-Awatere General Ward
The Marlborough District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also passes local regulations and makes decisions about infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage, and about the region’s resources, including water, soil and the coastline. The council is made up of 14 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Three councillors will be elected from the Wairau-Awatere ward. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Marlborough District Council election.

Why I'm standing

I want to continue on the good work of the retiring councillors. I am young and enthusiastic and willing to learn. I think it's important that our townships are supported and I have the time and commitment to attend community meetings.

About me

I am committed to seeing our community grow and prosper. I am approachable and will make time to meet constituents. I stand up for my principles and I'm not afraid to give my opinion.

My priorities
  1. Support our townships so they grow and prosper through the small townships program.
  2. Advocate for sustainable and resilient roads that are maintained in a timely manner.
  3. Encourage financial incentives for water storage options on new and existing housing.
