Why I'm standing
I want to contribute to enabling a thriving progressive and healthy community. It is critical that the system, the environment, the conditions are right. That's where council can be key to enabling the success of a positive community or otherwise. If we have the right investment, infrastructure, access to systems and supports, resources, facilities, social and community events we will have the right foundation to thrive as a community.
About me
After returning to Marton to raise my family here, I have been a representative on James Cook School Board of Trustees and have been active on the community committee. I am a professional registered social worker with expertise in education, quality assurance and community wellbeing. I love working with people to ensure goals are met, and this intersects with positive benefits for the community. I will strive to ensure council delivers excellence, and not mediocrity.
My priorities
- Working with a new council to build a strong cohesive team driving a vision that is people focused.
- Understanding the impacts of specific council decisions on our people and exploring gaps for attention.
- Ensuring transparency exists within consultation informing decisions – listening to all people.
