Why I'm standing

I love our area, it's fantastic but there are issues. Many people are isolated, and many communities don't have adequate facilities or access to services. Our area is changing fast, moving from a semi-rural area to densely developed and things are falling through the cracks. In addition, many can't even walk or ride around safely due to lack of footpath and safety. We need to prioritise our limited resources. I want to be involved.

About me

I live locally and I'm involved in many community organisations, from sporting to recreation to environmental. I'm a logical person who is rational, cooperative and can see the big picture. The board needs people who can work together and put aside differences to achieve the best for their communities. I have three years' experience on the local board already, so I understand how council works and how to get things done.

My priorities
  1. Enable participation. Be that in sport, environmental, art, history or other. Council should enable.
  2. Encourage Auckland Transport to provide footpaths and active transport options and more public transport. We are underserved.
  3. Advocate for and enable better planning and community involvement in fast growing areas.
