Why I'm standing

I love our environment in Upper Hutt and I want to protect it for the future. Our water catchment, treatment and storage is here so we have a responsibility to look after the headwaters and make sure that water passes through our networks and rivers in pristine condition.

About me

I have worked as a vet nurse and in bird rescue which started my interest in the environment. Treating oiled, poisoned or predated birds highlighted the need for better stewardship of the environment. My husband and I raised our three children in Upper Hutt and I got involved with La Leche League and school fundraising committees. I started reading council agendas and making submissions in council consultations and speaking in public forums.

My priorities
  1. Maintaining infrastructure in an increasing population.
  2. Improving local resilience for earthquakes, floods, drought and the increasing cost of living.
  3. Acting on behalf of the community when they oppose plans at local or government level.
