Why I'm standing

The council is facing some external issues that are unprecedented and needs a higher level of experience at councillor level to address them, ie Three Waters, changes to RMA and Local Government Act. I believe my extensive business background can be of some value in assisting the council in developing appropriate strategies to address some of these issues.

About me

Firstly I really care about this community. Our decision to relocate to Rangiora over seven years ago was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Secondly, I want to make a genuine difference. Thirdly, I have an extensive background in strategy, risk management, and running 11 different businesses and will bring a pragmatic approach to solving problems that may not be at the council table at present.

My priorities
  1. Assist the mayor and councillors in appointing the right CEO to take the business forward.
  2. Slow the Three Waters legislation down with a view to engaging in further discussions on alternatives.
  3. Ensure the current after hours medical facility planned is extended to a 24 hour facility.
