Auckland Central electorate

Auckland Central covers the Auckland city centre, inner western suburbs and the islands of the Hauraki Gulf. The electorate is currently held by the Green's Chlöe Swarbrick, who won by a narrow margin of 1,068 – one of the smallest margins in the country. In 2020, Labour won the greatest share of party votes in Auckland Central – 46% to National's 21%. Labour held the seat for all but three years between 1919 and 2008.

Why I'm standing

I'm running for TOP to promote its plan to make housing affordable overnight. Climate change and overshoot are the world's biggest story but unaffordable housing is NZ's. NZ's addiction to over-investing in residential property has made homes and renting obscenely unaffordable. The social damage this causes is massive. TOP is the only party with a plan to make housing for people not portfolios.

About me

My young family and I want to stay in NZ for the rest of our lives. I want to ensure that we have a diverse, caring community and a strong, resilient economy. After spending the last decade learning about NZ's unhealthy addiction to property investment, I've left my senior role in a software company to do something about it. I'm incorruptible, passionate, and get things done.

My priorities
  1. Deliver more affordable homes through a $3 billion community housing fund.
  2. Put an end to NZ's reliance on property investment as the main form of wealth generation.
  3. Reduce climate emissions and transition to a climate-resilient society.
