Why I'm standing

I believe I have the necessary background, education, experience and skills to properly represent and serve electors.

About me

For the past 25 years I have worked in the broad RMA/infrastructure area dealing with environmental and cultural issues. My previous background was in telecommunications, industrial relations and as director of the Waitangi Tribunal. In Tauranga I represent local hapū and iwi. I have a good knowledge of Tauranga issues being presently involved in transport and other infrastructure projects. I am a published author writing on Māori history, culture and 19th century race relations.

My priorities
  1. To assist with Māori and community housing.
  2. To address environment, water and climate change issues from a Māori and community perspective.
  3. To make co-governance work for the benefit of all.
