Why I'm standing

I'm standing because Motupōhue Bluff is a NZ taonga that too few value as much as they should. I'm standing because the Bluff area needs effective representation and advocacy up through the chain of decision making. I'm standing because I care about this community and it's people. I'm standing because our coastline and environment is precious to me. I'm standing because I want people to see past industry to a unique, well supported community.

About me

I have a social work, central government policy and journalism background. Since 22 I've served on boards in the social services, heritage, science, animal welfare and disability sectors. I spent over 10 years with the Green Party in many office holding positions and as a candidate. I'm not currently a member, but I do have a pragmatic green perspective on social and environmental issues. I'm skilled at consultation, effective representation, lobbying and making good policy.

My priorities
  1. Make decisions together that strengthen the Bluff community as a whole.
  2. Ensure Bluff isn't an afterthought in local and central government decision making for our region.
  3. Make sure Bluff isn't only a hive of industry, but also a well supported, vibrant community.
