Why I'm standing

I believe our local communities play a huge part in the promotion of Buller as a whole and harbour one of the largest economic contributors, Stockton Mine. Over the years, we have seen a decline in just about every area of our roading and infrastructure, no clear solution for our population with climate change adaptation and poor planning around community resilience, feeling divided from Westport and last on the list for expenditure.

About me

I live in St Helens in the Norther Buller, previously living in our family home on the beachfront in Granity, raising my children and working locally in trades and mining. Over the years, I have been involved in many community initiatives, youth, arts and local committees, now serving several years in our local fire brigade (secretary/treasurer) and recently as a civil defence coordinator. My strengths are facilitation, communication, transparency and delivery.

My priorities
  1. Establish community resilience through planning and maintaining key lifelines (roads/infrastructure).
  2. Help navigate climate adaptation with realistic solutions, create stability, now and for the future.
  3. Support local business and initiatives with secured funding/promotion/training for economic growth.
