Cromwell Ward
The Central Otago District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 11 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Four councillors will be elected from the Cromwell ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing
I wanted to see community-focussed development, with much, much more involvement by members of the public.
About me
I was born here, educated here, and experienced a considerable amount of change when the Clyde Dam was built.
My priorities
- Would like to see youth facilities like the scout den and the bike park come up to full potential.
- A new community centre – a planned hall – represent all interested groups in the community.
- I would like to see my town, and the district, as a fun happy place to be.
