Why I'm standing

Council's perspective of the East needs to change, we have lost trust in council to deliver with under investment, overdue earthquake repairs, core infrastructure work continually deferred and flooding that can be prevented. There is still a lot to do and we need urgent action as these issues affect our well-being daily. I am standing to help bring about these changes using my experience, skills, knowledge and determination to create a positive future for us.

About me

I love this place! For over 40 years, I have lived, raised a family, worked, volunteered and led community projects. Previous chairperson of our community board (2016-2019). I bring a proven record of successful advocacy working alongside community groups and key stakeholders, enabling development now. What drives me is seeing our area reach its full potential. What guides me is what is important to you. I am not interested in party politics and am independent!

My priorities
  1. Ensure equity. Prioritise flood mitigation, repairing earthquake damage and improving core services.
  2. Change the council's perception and attitude towards our area so we feel valued and respected.
  3. Ensure the council's coastal hazards planning is transparent, with genuine consultation processes.
