Why I'm standing

I believe some incumbent councillors and community board members are not doing enough to mitigate and adapt to climate change. I am worried my brother's children have no future if we don't act now to reduce emissions and plan for future flooding and catastrophic weather events, like we just saw in Nelson. Business as usual is not an option anymore. Stadiums are a luxury but mass rapid transit and cycleways are a necessity.

About me

I am a values-driven person and feel a lot of empathy for others. I feel connected to my community, and the volunteer organisations I belong to. I feel the younger residents aren't being represented, which is reflected in the repeated calls for urgent action on climate change. I am an active listener and work collaboratively to find solutions. I'm a big believer in transparency and open, honest conversations. I'm here to enable you to participate.

My priorities
  1. Rapidly rollout the remaining Major Cycle Routes and begin connecting them together = climate action.
  2. Create urban forests and corridors for native flora and fauna to increase biodiversity and happiness
  3. Encourage public participation in council decision making by ensuring adequate information is shared.
