Why I'm standing

I am standing because the people of our ward know what it's like when nature forces traumatic change upon them. Climate change is happening now, but it's giving us time to change, mitigate and adapt. If we act now we can choose how we adapt, if we wait much longer we won't be able to. Our future is in our hands. We need to work with nature to make a future we're proud of.

About me

In the past 11 years I have gained great knowledge of the ecological issues our city faces, through the campaign to green the red zone. I started the campaign to return the red zone to nature. I was a founding member of Avon-Ōtātkaro Network, and founder of Greening the Red Zone. For two years, I have been a community member of Te Tira Kāhikuhiku, the Red Zone's transformative land use consultative group.

My priorities
  1. Restoring natural environments to help our city and region adapt to and mitigate climate change.
  2. Providing real transport choice so it's easy for people to stop relying on ever more costly petrol.
  3. Cleaning up our rivers so they become ecologically sustainable.
