Why I'm standing

I'm running for Environment Canterbury as I have witnessed the rapid decline in our rivers, lakes and ecosystem over the last 30 years. Environment Canterbury has failed in their responsibility to protect our freshwater putting the intensification of the dairy industry before the health of the people and environment. With the climate crisis, we are facing we need a change away from business as usual.

About me

I grow up and spent my childhood in, on and around the Selwyn River. Spent most of my working life as a builder and a few years dairy farming. I have a great understanding of wildlife and what they and the environment needs. I'm willing to listen and take advice from others. I have no financial vested interests in an industry that's polluting our freshwater so can vote without personal effect.

My priorities
  1. Working to make our freshwater clean and healthy is my top priority for the generations to come.
  2. Commit to returning the health of our aquifers so we can say we have the best water in the world.
  3. Commit to making Canterbury a leading supplier of regenerative plant-based food.
