Why I'm standing

The Far North District Council has problems which I believe with my training and experience I can contribute to resolving. I also love my country and have a passion for the Far North, which has been my home for five generations. Although I spent my working career away from home, no other place has been my real home.

About me

I am a chartered engineer with nearly five decades of experience designing oil and gas facilities, managing projects and solving problems for clients. I have worked globally in multi-discipline, multi-national teams to complete projects efficiently. Some of my work included determining what could go wrong and preventing that happening. Although working in local body government will be quite different, I am confident of being effective as a councillor.

My priorities
  1. Routine inspection and preservation of existing facilities such as the Mangonui wharf.
  2. Stop Three Waters.
  3. Balance the budget to prioritise core services.
