Geraldine Community Board

The Geraldine Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Timaru District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members. There will be no election this year because there are the same number of candidates as there are positions. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Geraldine Community Board election.

Local democracy

Local government is a foundational part of our democracy. But local democracy isn’t just about holding elections every three years – it’s about the day-to-day ways people have their say in the decisions that affect us all.

  • Stand for full and open democracy. I do not support unwarranted closed council sessions, and I do not support co-governance.

Value true diversity, which is about people's values and skills and choices, rather than their appearance and/or parentage.

Acknowledge appropriately the skill, experience, and dedication of high-performing council staff.
