Why I'm standing

Wairoa has unique needs and assets. My focus will be on strong governance that brings sustainability to our district. Sustainable practices that enhance businesses, enhance communities and individuals, that ensure we are able to take pride in our practices and our ability to safeguard our home both now and in the future. I commit to listening to and share our wealth of knowledge and use this to influence council decision-making.

About me

As a proud custodian of the land, I take this responsibility seriously. Ensuring positive outcomes for the environment whilst maintaining viable and profitable business are key drivers. I love my work within our community where I strive to build capability and enhance our people. I represent Wairoa on Beef+LambNZ Farmer Council, as Chair of Farming Women Tairāwhiti, Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) Community Hub Facilitator, as an Enviroschools Facilitator, Catchment group administrator, and Ruakituri community engagement coordinator.

My priorities
  1. Ensuring Wairoa people and their needs are well represented and influential in council decisions.
  2. That policies are sensible, workable and achieve the desired outcomes.
  3. That the current cycle of increasing rate take is stopped and spending of our money is well managed.
