Why I'm standing

Having never been able to vote for a candidate I could personally relate to or felt held the same values as me, I have chosen to stand to be that representative for the significant number of young and progressive members of our community. I want to bring new diverse perspectives to council and be a catalyst for positive change. This can only be achieved with more willing, dedicated and honest elected members around the table.

About me

I live here, work remotely in tech for an international company, and run an organic orchard here – this is my home, and I care about its future. Having previously worked for council, I have an in-depth understanding of the operational elements of nearly every aspect of the organisation – which is beneficial to hit the ground running as well as be realistic about the parameters council operates within and where improvements can be made.

My priorities
  1. To be clear – I don't think anyone should run for council with a "pet project" or singular priority.
  2. I intend to prioritise logical decisions for our district that provide tangible community benefits.
  3. I'd love to see better care for our community and more respect for the whenua we live and work upon.
