Kaikohe-Hokianga Community Board

South Hokianga Subdivision
The Kaikohe-Hokianga Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Far North District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of seven members: six members elected by voters, including two members from your area, and one councillor from the Far North District council. This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Kaikohe-Hokianga Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

I love Hokianga but there are things that need to be improved so we can all thrive while caring for this incredible and special place.

About me

I am a strong and effective voice for Hokianga, experienced in bringing attention and action to local issues such as road safety, wastewater, rivers, sustainability, rangatahi and educational programmes. I have organised many events and educational opportunities and sit on local boards and trusts. I have experience listening to a variety of people and groups and finding common ground and a way forward together.

My priorities
  1. Seek equity for Hokianga; be a strong voice for Hokianga concerns and keep Hokianga informed.
  2. Sit at the table for any available resourcing for land-based wastewater systems, roads, footpaths.
  3. Support local housing, employment, water, waste management, recycling, services and infrastucture.
