Kaitake Community Board

The Kaitake Community Board represents your local community and advocates to New Plymouth District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of five members: four members elected by voters, and one councillor from the New Plymouth District Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Kaitake Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

I believe that those of us who live in Ōmata, Ōākura and Okato have found a gem of a place. Kindness abounds and I want to see that continue as we meet the needs of our people.

About me

I came to Ōākura from the U.S. in 2000, recruited by the Ministry of Education as a Speech Therapist and Service Manager. I'm loving it here 22 years later and as a NZ citizen. I am a community minded person with a lifelong commitment to the well-being of people of all ages and cultures.

My priorities
  1. Addressing climate change, for now and for future generations.
  2. Keeping people engaged in life around them and activities they can participate in regardless of age.
  3. Promote sustainable living whether it be regenerative farming or growing your own fruit and vegies.
