Mercury Bay Community Board

The Mercury Bay Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Thames-Coromandel District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of four members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.   • Increase engagement with local environmental groups to support the work they do for our environment and wildlife.

    Initiate a "keep our district beautiful" scheme, including sourcing funds to employ roadside cleaners.

  • Review the Waste Management and Minimisation Plan to ensure its effectiveness and help reduce waste where ever we can.

    Engage with our communities on ways to effectively support biodiversity in rural areas as well as support the preservation of wetlands.
