Why I'm standing

I want to help grow our community of Methven, and I want to do this with our communities voice at the forefront. I believe there are challenges we need to address now and a huge number of opportunities. If Methven wants to create its own future, we need to be addressing our challenges and engaging with these opportunities now to create the outcomes we want. I am running because I am passionate about Methven's future.

About me

I am passionate about helping communities grow sustainability with the people living there at the heart of it all. My work with Lincoln University, in Malawi and with Wellbeing Opuke has cemented how important working collaboratively with communities is. Having grown up in Methven, I understand the unique position we are in. I will offer a diverse, forward-thinking perspective that will complement the direction the community board has been heading in.

My priorities
  1. Creating a thriving community – addressing current limitations and identifying opportunities.
  2. Supporting sustainable growth – focus on growing 'the pie' while being community-centric.
  3. Improving transparency and communication between Methven, the community board, and Ashburton District Council.
