Why I'm standing

I have a deep belief in the importance of caring for our natural environment, a determination to work for strong, sustainable and enduring economic development in Northland, and a commitment to ensure the community's best interests are fairly served.

About me

I grew up in Northland and have had a holiday, now permanent, home for over 26 years; I'm driven by principles of natural justice and fair play; I have the ability to analyse issues rationally and without bias having worked in Treasury for 15 years; I have an MA in Economics; and I have experience of working with a wide range of cultures having taught in international schools for 8 years.

My priorities
  1. Make sure that Northland is well-placed to cope with climate change impact now and into the future.
  2. Protect the natural environment, especially biodiversity and associated pest reduction.
  3. Ensure regional council work meets high standards of analytical rigour and responsiveness to community needs.
