Ōmokoroa Community Board

The Ōmokoroa Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Western Bay of Plenty District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: four members elected by voters, and two councillors from the Western Bay of Plenty District Council.  This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Ōmokoroa Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

As our community grows, I want to play my part to ensure that growth doesn't come at the expenses of the wonderful things that make up Ōmokoroa. At the same time, I want to ensure that our community board is reflective of the changing face of our community. Ōmokoroa needs to be a community that works well for everyone, from toddlers to retired people.

About me

Throughout my working career I have developed a range of skills and experience that will make me a good voice for the people of Ōmokoroa. I've worked in central government and understand the machinations of the public service. I've served on committees my whole life and for the last six years have been a Board member at Ōmokoroa Point School. Recently, I developed the business case to support the petition for a new secondary school.

My priorities
  1. Representing all demographics of the Ōmokoroa community, actively listening to concerns and ideas.
  2. Managing our future growth with respect to what already makes Ōmokoroa great!
  3. Fostering connections between council and community organisations, to make our town even better.
