Paraparaumu Community Board

The Paraparaumu Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Kāpiti Coast District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of six members: four members elected by voters, and two councillors from the Kāpiti Coast District Council.  This is a single transferable vote (STV) election, so you vote by ranking the candidates on your ballot paper. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Paraparaumu Community Board election.

From parks and libraries to museums and art galleries, councils can be a key supporter of sporting, recreational and cultural events that bring communities to life. Community facilities, including sports grounds and town halls, are often owned and run by councils.

    Promote our beaches and walkways.

    Have more festivals in Kāpiti.

  • Stop any additional spending on Te Uruhi/the Kāpiti Gateway, the cost of over $7.8 million is far too high and adds little community value.

    Continue improving our community's environment and lifestyle.

    Upgrade, and where needed add, public toilets at public facilities.

  • Some small funding for arts, but the main emphasis must be reducing rates.
