Rangitīkei District Council

Northern General Ward
The Rangitīkei District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of 11 councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). Two councillors will be elected from the Northern ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Our district is both unique and typical of predominantly rural NZ. Our major risk is bad management of "green" initiatives that could stifle and smoother our core.

About me

Having served one term, I am keen to use skills learned to polish off work started on behalf of my community.

My priorities
  1. Prioritise community engagement on places and spaces.
  2. Connect local voice with local government.
  3. Deliver future proofed civic centre upgrade with community needs and expectation front and center.
