Rotorua Lakes Community Board

The Rotorua Lakes Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Rotorua District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of five members: four members elected by voters, and one councillor from the Rotorua District Council. There will be no election this year because there are the same number of candidates as there are positions.   • Advocate central government to better support our high number of low socio economic whānau. Support those currently working in this space.

    Encourage and plan for building of smaller, healthy, green, housing. Particularly apartments. To support housing options for all.

    Develop a policy that sees a range of housing options in all our communities and that all communities receive the same amenities.

  • Reduce the red tape and weight times for consent by preapproving acceptable solutions.

    Don't sell council-owned land.

    Homelessness is a government issue.
