Why I'm standing

I moved to Greytown five years ago to enjoy the lifestyle. The community has given me so much since I moved here, I want to give back and I have been encouraged to run for council. We need a clear, future vision of where we want to be, with everyone's input considered. We can have successful, thriving businesses and carefully manage growth while preserving the heritage character, lifestyle and values that we enjoy.

About me

I bring a wealth of real life experience gained as a family man, businessman celebrity chef, author, contributor to radio and television and for 11 years a volunteer ar Remutaka Prison, providing catering training to long-term prisoners, which aids employment on their release. I bring common sense and lessons gained over three decades of broad and varied experience.I am a person of of absolute integrity and exceptional interpersonal skills. I'm a good listener.

My priorities
  1. Work to a connected, resilient and inclusive community with a council that responds to community views.
  2. Stop treating ratepayers' money like a flowing river of cash and treat it like a scarce resource.
  3. Give our community boards real power, the voice to represent what ratepayers are saying and asking for.
