Twizel Community Board

The Twizel Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Mackenzie District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of five members: four members elected by voters, and one councillor from the Mackenzie District Council. There will be no election this year because there are the same number of candidates as there are positions. Compare the candidates and their policies to decide who to vote for in the Twizel Community Board election.

Why I'm standing

To communicate the needs of the community to the council and facilitate their implementation. To provide continuity between the current community board and the new one.

About me

I am a long-time Twizel resident – 18 years in the 70s, 80s and 90s, and since 2010. I believe that the council can do more for Twizel if the community's needs are effectively communicated and encouraged.

My priorities
  1. Establish a new community hub to satisfy all of the needs of the community.
  2. Communicate the needs of the community to the council and advocate strongly for Twizel.
  3. Make decisions that are future-proofed for the rapidly increasing township.
