Why I'm standing

I have been a councillor for nine years and have gained knowledge and experience to be a valuable asset to guide local democracy in our area with the massive change that is looming. The reforms are all coming at once and a mix of new and experienced councillors will be advantageous for the local community to inform decision making.

About me

I bring an open mind and experience within local government to the table. I am extremely community focused and often find I am asked for guidance as well as to lead initiatives within the community. I have governance skills and am a chartered member of the NZ Institute of Directors. I have financial knowledge through my career within the financial industry and have sat on many community boards. Currently Chair Strategy and Finance.

My priorities
  1. Advocate for good services balanced with affordability.
  2. Ensure all communication is clear and focused providing good explanations to get useful feedback.
