Wallace Takitimu Community Board

The Wallace Takitimu Community Board represents your local community and advocates to Southland District Council about local issues, including public transport and facilities such as libraries and parks. The board is made up of seven members: six members elected by voters, and one councillor from the Southland District Council.  This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. I live in Nightcaps and have a background in conservation, youth leadership, communications in Southland and nationwide. With involvement in the Southland District Youth Council As a 21-year-old, I feel empowered to drive a future where our district is the envy of the country, with courage and compassion and learn and grow with my rich community.

About me

I have lived in Nightcaps pretty much since I was born, my community has brought me up. I have a background in conservation, youth leadership, and communications. With involvement in the Southland District Youth Council as a 21-year-old, I feel empowered to drive a future where we can lead the way toward the future we create from the ground up, with courage and compassion.

My priorities
  1. Foster community cohesion and well-being through accessible initiatives and support.
  2. Act on climate change, protect our biodiversity, and build certainty of our sustainable economy.
  3. Include and empower all voices and our cultural diversity, including youth and minorities.
