East Coast is currently held by Labour's Kiri Allan, who won comfortably with a margin of 6,331. Allan is not standing again in 2023. In 2020, Labour won the greatest share of party votes in East Coast – 50% to National's 27%. It is the largest general electorate in the North Island by land area.

Why I'm standing

I am campaigning for the Green Party vote because I believe in their core values and how they reflect not only on our electorate but on the country as a whole and internationally. In a time of devastation from climate-driven disasters, the Green Party is the only party with evidence-based policy that keeps our environment and people front of mind, with solutions to decrease carbon emissions, while helping people too.

About me

I am campaigning for a Green Party vote this time around, because I firmly believe they will help secure a liveable future for all. I believe that with more Green MPs in parliament, the better chance we have of an abundant future for all. This election isn't about the singular for me but about advocation for our electorate, for whenua, and people.

My priorities

  1. Reform Working For Families through implementing our Income Guarantee policy.
  2. Ensure a sustainable future for all through implementing our Clean Power Payment policy.
  3. Return whenua to Māori by ending perpetual leases through our Hoki Whenua Mai policy.
