Why I'm standing
Invercargill is a great place to live and work. Over the past six years it's been fantastic to see it moving ahead, with investments in our region's infrastructure, environment, and people. However, there's still more to do. I'm standing again as I'm keen to ensure we continue to support households with the cost of living, protect our environment, and achieve a sustainable economic transition for Southland.
About me
Before entering Parliament in 2017, I'd spent nearly a decade monitoring the health of New Zealand's children and young people, charting the effects of child poverty, substandard housing, lack of access to healthcare, and their impacts on families. I got involved in politics because I wanted to see this turned around and over the past six years it's been fantastic to see many of the things that have been put in place to support families.
My priorities
- Support households with the high cost of living.
- Protect our environment, waterways, and native species.
- Ensure a sustainable economic transition for Southland.
