Why I'm standing
Vulnerable animals need a voice. Animals need representation in council decisions and parliament. I have spoken out for animals in the last five years by way of outreaching on our streets. I have seen the exhausted, confused state of animals at the shelters and farm animals as they arrive at the slaughterhouse, as well as struggling with panicked animals on fireworks night. Land developers should consider animals. I feel passionately that animals need protection. Tiaki.
About me
As a passionate animal advocate, I want to improve conditions for animals in our community. Animals need protection and to be included in policies by lawmakers, councils and governments. The current system of animal protection in Aotearoa is broken. I want to be part of the solution. I work in healthcare for people in their greatest time of need. When they are most vulnerable, I believe animals also deserve protection and consideration. Tiaki in tiao.
My priorities
- Give animals a voice alongside humans.
- Phase out dog and horseracing. Non-consenting athletes die every year unnecessarily.
- As urban sprawl expands we need to pay attention to nature and the wildlife around us, educate. Tiaki.
