Why I'm standing
As a mother, I am concerned that we have already depleted our babies' share of our earth's natural life-supporting capacity. Our forests are dying and our marine ecosystems are collapsing. Putting profit before people and the planet simply has to stop.
About me
I have thirty years of experience in senior leadership roles working in European corporations and as an environmental scientist, and business owner in Aotearoa. It is however the last three years working in our marae māra and mahinga moana, applying matauranga māori that I have developed a more profound and essential understanding of the mahi needed to regenerate our natural systems and rejuvenate the mauri of our taiao.
My priorities
- Decolonise climate crisis responses through matauranga māori; empower māori to restore taiao marae.
- Ensure all whānau live in dignity in an affordable, warm home with guaranteed minimum income.
- Me hoki whenua mai. Promote constitutional transformation through Matike Mai and He Puapua.
