Why I'm standing

I stand for rural and provincial New Zealand. My electorate of Taranaki-King Country reflects my strong interests in looking after our farming community and all the service towns that support rural people. Rural people deserve the same level of service that urban people receive, and it is a strong driver of mine to ensure that we receive good health services, education, roads, connectivity and infrastructure that will benefit those who live in rural areas.

About me

I am a farmer myself with many years of hands-on experience. Beyond the farm, I served on many rural boards, trusts and representative organisations such as Dairy NZ, Primary ITO, Livestock Improvement and Fonterra Shareholders Council. I live and breathe rural and have a strong network of rural people, both in Taranaki King Country but right across New Zealand. I've achieved a number of recognition awards including 2012 Dairy Woman of the Year.

My priorities
  1. Remove the red tape that is restraining our farmers and small businesses and move to outcome focus.
  2. Continue to advocate for health, education, roads, connectivity and rural services.
  3. Advocate for recognition for environmental work that our farmers and businesses contribute to.
