Why I'm standing

I first owned land on the Barrier in 1982, when I barged a dismantled church to Tryphena for our Little Goat property and fell in love with this place, the peace, the people and the untouched natural environment. I remember those times with great clarity and want to help Aotea retain that place of magic, beauty and wonder.

About me

I have always been involved in community organisations, eg Grey Lynn Community Board, sports, arts and school. My professional life included working on Auckland Council strategies in the Unitary Plan including infrastructure, resilience, flood protection and density. I held senior roles in the Auckland Theatre Company, Unitec and in RMA urban design land development projects meeting council's Auckland Plan aspirations.

My priorities
  1. Protect the character of this special place, build a bold future and advocate for the gulf.
  2. Ensure the future of Aotea is aligned with the aspirations of Aotea's residents.
  3. Ensure the health and beauty of the island is free from contaminants and damage.
