Why I'm standing

I am proud of our beautiful, super diverse city. I want to see our diverse communities celebrated, represented and heard in the shaping of our city. I believe we can face the future together and build a better, more inclusive and resilient city for us all to live and thrive together, honouring Tangata Whenua and safeguarding the environment for our mokopuna.

About me

I am a qualified lawyer and academic with a proven track record in leadership and good governance. I have served my community at the grassroots level during COVID and the floods. I believe my academic prowess, shrewd negotiation skills and compassion for our community enable me to boldly represent the voices of the Manukau community at the decision-making table – often in the face of extreme pressure. Yet I have never faltered or buckled.

My priorities
  1. Change the mayor's funding model so that no Manukau local board has a shortfall of $1m - $1.5m
  2. Fund animal management and desexing to address dog control issues in Manukau and South Auckland.
  3. Empower communities to build resilience against future floods, weather events and the climate crisis.
