Why I'm standing

The people of Christchurch have seen lots of change in the last 10 years and this pace is likely to continue. I believe the key concerns are the impact of climate change, increasing housing densities resulting in less liveable streets, and the increased cost of transport. I believe these stresses will be felt by families especially and increase inequity across the city. I will work hard to support residents so no one is left behind.

About me

I have a PhD in biochemistry and have owned the successful education business AHeadStart for 15 years, so I have both analytical and business skills. I also know how to navigate the council system having been on council for the last six years. As a woman with a young family, I wish to continue to represent a sector of society that is often too busy to be heard but cares very much about our collective future.

My priorities
  1. Safeguard greatest assets – the port, airport, electricity and fibre networks – from being sold off.
  2. Increase equitable access to public transport by supporting a mass rapid transport system.
  3. Improve the environment by increasing biodiversity and cleaning up waterways.
