Why I'm standing

My passion is to see thriving communities assisted by effective local government delivering core services for less. One that is accountable to its local communities through empowered community boards and communities. Local people creating local solutions to local problems. Creating a can do culture, enabling policies and planning that make it easier to build, do business, learn, work and play. Communities where people and families thrive.

About me

I'm born in the north, have served 12 years as a senior councillor, have an extensive background in science and technology. I have a heart for people and have been actively involved in business, training and charitable projects in the Far North; also thirty years plus experience in a large corporate. I am a proven strategic and innovative thinker, and have the motivation, skills and time to help enhance local government that works for communities.

My priorities
  1. Keep rates affordable by reducing waste and unnecessary expense and collect development contributions.
  2. Focus on core services delivering more for less and a realistic, deliverable long term plan.
  3. Enable self-governing thriving communities, key to creating sustainable and resilient communities.
