Why I'm standing

Geraldine interests are my interests: farming, recreation, environment, arts, local economy, tourism, amenity, history, and services. They're connected and make Geraldine a splendid place to live and to visit. I've been part of the Geraldine strategic framework which elevates them, gives a mandate to advocate for them, and can fund projects to enhance them. My goal is to advance them further.

About me

I'm a writer, a former farmer and teacher, and a national recreation and conservation advocate. I chair the Geraldine District Projects Trust, am on the Geraldine Community Arts Council, and am deputy chair of the New Zealand Landcare Trust. Democracy's main pillars are vital: equality under the law, freedom of expression, and citizen participation.

My priorities
  1. Ensure citizens' everyday lives are supported and enhanced through the community board's work.
  2. Continue implementing Geraldine's strategic framework to do the things Geraldine people prioritised.
  3. Ensure Three Waters is genuinely done well.
