Why I'm standing

I have always been involved in my community, mainly through sports and local committees and trusts. I believe that you cannot complain if you are not willing to stand up. I am excited by the opportunity to serve the region where I grew up. With over 30 years of experience in human resource management, emergency services and governance, I offer practical leadership grounded in people-first values, attributes which will make me become an effective councilor.

About me

As a proud Pacific New Zealander, I bring a deep cultural commitment to service, resilience and collective wellbeing. I believe leadership is about legacy; making decisions today that honour our past and protect the future for our grandchildren and their grandchildren.

My priorities
  1. Champion community resilience strategies to prepare for climate-driven hazard and natural disasters.
  2. Advocate greater transparency and community involvement with all represented groups.
  3. Create a balance between productivity and environmental care across our rural and urban sectors.
